TELLING A STORY OR EXPERIENCE

Specifically

EXPERIENCE:

-Present Perfect: to introduce your experience informing on what has happened. 

                                                                                  (new information, changes)

-Past simple: to give details about your experience.

​

-Past Perfect: to explain the reason why something happened, to specify what happened before a past event.

                     

STORY:

-Past continuous: to describe the background (what was happening around events)

​

-Past simple: to explain the series of events in the story.

​

-Past Perfect: to explain the reason why something happened, to specify what happened before a past event.

 

And, when telling the story, you will be including what, who, where, when and how it happened.
